The site 'www.poros-island.co.uk' has been in operation since 2003, the original concept behind the site was to allow small companies and traders to provide a web presence allowing potential browsers to gather information. These small enterprises in most circumstances did not warrant the need for a full site. Greece in general and specificaly the smaller areas such as the islands have been excluded from the modern and now daily use of the internet. Until recently (July 06) the connection speeds offered to users was limited to dial up connections outside of the major cities. With the advent of faster speeds many locals are now understanding the use of the internet as a marketing tool.
The poros-island site still remains home to many small enterprises and will always continue to do so. No mater what your business, exposure to the world of the web is now almost essential. This site now also lists information on a wide range of services offered to holiday makers and visitors to this jewel of an island.
